Snowpocalypse

Time for another monthly update! December is here and winter is in full force in Edmonton. We are, unfortunately, in the midst of ANOTHER winter storm with heavy snow, cold temperatures and high winds!

Now, on to Kavan. He's doing well! Working full-time at the bank and enjoying interacting with his clients. Kavan is so charismatic that everyone can't help but adore him! He is healthy and happy. His hair continues to grow, albeit very slowly, and he recently had to go for his first professional haircut. He is always quick to tell others the stories of me cutting his hair and how horribly I did!

Kavan's next check-up at the Cross Cancer Institute is not until January! He is feeling well at the moment, and if there weren't photographic evidence, you wouldn't believe that he had been sick! I've never heard him bring up his cancer, aside from answering other's questions. His attitude truly amazes me!

Happy December and stay warm!

Below are some shots from our engagement session.

  1. Hi, I just finished reading your entire blog (took a little while). My son was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in July and reading about the journey of others helps us with his. Kavan is a remarkable fellow and managed treatment very well. My son is struggling terribly and just had a feeding tube put in because he stopped eating (he's 20 and mildly mentally challenged). I found it very interesting the differences in how Kavan's treatment ran in Edmonton; we lived there up until 6 years ago. You both sound like very special people and I wish you so much joy and a fantastic life together. I hope that wretched disease never comes back!! My son's tumour is in his spine and his prognosis is guarded right now but we are cautiously optimistic. If you wish to read his story I am at patriciaspage@wordpress.com. I hope you will continue to blog so we can follow your happy ever after story. All the best, Patricia & family in Saint John, New Brunswick.
